Who We Are

Dave Katzenmeyer, CPP, President
Presiding over a background screening company is a natural extension of Genesis President Dave Katzenmeyer’s 29+ years of owning and running two highly successful security companies: Event Management and PACWEST Security.

Both agencies required Dave and his staff to become experts in selecting and hiring reliable, trustworthy employees. Event Management provided off-duty police officers, security officers, parking attendants, ushers and box office personnel for major events held in arenas, convention centers, auditoriums, performing arts centers and other public assembly facilities, while PACWEST Security provided security guards who protected employees, assets and vital information in the headquarters of some of the biggest names in the business, financial and insurance worlds, including Fortune 500 firms.

Each event required selecting and overseeing 200 to 300 employees, and on some weekends Event Management would handle several events. Both firms’ successful management of their respective specializations earned Dave and his staff the trust and respect of his many clients and peers.

Over the years, Dave and his staff hired tens of thousands of employees. Dave’s companies were responsible for the conduct, honesty and successful job performance of each and every one of these individuals. His staff became highly skilled at interviewing, screening and training people, and over time they created systems that streamlined their pre-employment and training processes.

The systems they developed were so precise that when Dave sold PACWEST Security 13 years after he started it, the first employee the company hired and the company’s first client were still with the firm. Dave explained, “We keep employees and customers by doing what we say we will do. You will not hear promises that we cannot keep.”

Dave, who also served as a reserve in a southern California law enforcement agency, learned from first-hand experience how crucial it is to have the right people in place: “You cannot win and keep clients like I have for so many years, nor will your company be selected for the positions of enormous trust that my firms have had the honor of holding, if you do not know how to hire people. Besides our reputation, our people are our most valuable asset.”
